BLACK WOMAN
Voicing Entebbe, Rotterdam 2020

I came across Christine Ayo's work during the VIA VIA SALON event, organized by Kontra Rotterdam at Weelde Cafe.

Voicing Entebbe is an ongoing project that started as a personal archive dedicated to documenting these unresolved tragedies. This site serves as a repository for the multifaceted ways of investigating and unraveling the underlying issues behind these murders and what it means for women to claim agency concerning sexual violence and stigma.

Before I Die Wall - Amsterdam 2015

The wall is an art piece made by artist Candy Chang, she started the wall in New Orleans in 2011, after the loss of a close friend.
I came across the installation in Amsterdam at the Sarphati park in 2015, when living in the nearby. When thinking about community and public this project came to my mind because it spreads through communities and requires the cooperation of more people to bring the message across.

ME AND MY MOM

This is a picture of me and my mom. I carry always in my wallet. My mother is my role model, she taught me how to be independent and how to live in a men's world. Two years ago, me and my mom got a matching tattoo of the image.
